I'm glad you asked. It is known as Ichthys (sometimes spelled Ichthus, from Greek: ἰχθύς, capitalized ΙΧΘΥΣ or ΙΧΘΥC) is the ancient and classical Greek word for "fish". Early Christians used it as a secret symbol to share with others of the same faith. It still holds a similar meaning to those using it today.
belief that is not based on proof: -the obligation of loyalty or fidelity to a person, promise, engagement, etc.: -belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion. James 2:17, it says, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being alone". Such is the case, in order for faith to truly thrive, conviction must be accompanied by an action. It is believed that such action is consistent with speaking.
Yes, I have Faith...a Faith in the Spirit of God. I would like you to know mine is a personal and unique view on beliefs, morals and values that are reflected in the teachings and wisdom found in the Holy Bible. Does it mean you must believe in what I do? No! And it does not mean I look down on anyone else for there beliefs nor do I feel I have all of the answers. All I'm saying is that I believe understanding where your faith is helps define who you are. I know where mine is.
Well, there are some shallow answers and a few deeper ones. The easy answer is I'm a nut for street rods and putting a flame job on my personal symbol of faith was a no brainier. But the real reason for the flames is that it symbolizes my faith statement, " A Faith Forged by Fire...". The flames are a reminder that it is during the trials and tribulations in my life that I grow closer to my God. This also humbles me and reminds me to be thankful for everything in my life that is good.
My hope is in sharing this statement helps others to look hard at there own personal journey in Faith.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this site, and remember to keep the Faith.
